Walking Dead iOS

If you’re deathly bored at work and you happen to have an iPhone or iPad, Walking Dead: The Game is free on iTunes (for a limited time, I’m assuming).

It has good reviews, so download it, lock yourself in your office bathroom, and go to town! On the game.

Download it here.

More free stuff for this Weekend of Love!

Apple released iTunes 11 — the design is much improved and is a lot, lot faster apparently. Download it now, seems like they’ve done a pretty good job with the redesign.

If you don’t believe me, BuzzFeed smushed together 3 Ways the New iTunes Sucks Less. It’s a good Friday read because … uh … it’s only 3 items long.

I’m back in Brooklyn this weekend to be a brides man (not a typo) in my friend’s wedding, so I’m declaring this THE WEEKEND OF LOOOOOOOOOVE and have chosen a Friday Song accordingly.

There aren’t many times in life when the initials of your friends getting married is BJ + JHJ (no joke!), so this Friday love theme goes out to them.

Most of us recognize this song from the stellar Drive soundtrack. I’m not super into the video, but the song has a great porn-groove vibe to it that I love.

Happy Friday, y’all! Love is in the air!!!

Update: It’s an abridged version of the song. Get the full version here complete with hipster-girl-mid-song conversation.

In Our Heads

I’m a big Hot Chip fan. I was first introduced to them when I was fresh out of college and working in London for a year. Their sound is unique, but what’s even more amazing is how they reproduce their stuff at a live show.

Right now, their new album, “In Our Heads” is available as a free stream as part of NPR’s First Listen Series. These things eventually get taken down, so have a listen while you can! I’ve just started my stream.

The stream is available HERE.

Wow, if this is true, this is pretty great — according to Gizmodo, black iPhone 4‘s are in short supply, so if you bring your broken iPhone 4 into Apple for them to look at, they may just replace it with an iPhone 4S!

I wouldn’t be surprised if they do, they’re pretty great about replacing products that aren’t working. When I got my iMac, they gave me a free keyboard since I wanted one with a number pad. No questions asked, no begging-voice needed, they just sent that stuff right along. I guess they do have enough cash to keep their customers happy ….

The first episode of Legend of Korra (the new continuation Avatar: Last Airbender series) is available for free download on iTunes HERE.

If my distasteful love for a (supposedly) terrible cover of a song wasn’t bad enough, admitting my love for the animated Avatar series from Nickelodeon should put me in official Gnerd territory. I embrace it, the first series was amazing (although M. Night Shyamalan’s live-action movie was TER-RI-BLE).

iTunes U is kind of an amazing resource that doesn’t get enough attention — on it you can find tons and tons of really great audio and video lectures.

One thing that I stumbled upon was the availability of Calligraphy Heritage video lectures from Reed College (link to the video in iTunes is right HERE). It’s kind of amazing because according to Walter Isaacson’s biography of Steve Jobs (check it out if you get a chance), Reed College’s calligraphy course was what got Steve Jobs interested in typography, which ultimately led him to include a number of fonts in Apple computers, completely changing the course of the Graphic Design industry.

Design-centric, amazing stuff, available free on iTunes. When I finally get a chance to sit down, I’m going tear through these lectures. Can’t wait.
